3-day "Mt. Stearn Alpine Meadows"Three days of high country wilderness in the northern Canadian Rockies! We'll spend the first day reaching our campsite, located at 1950 meters in beautiful subalpine meadows below the sweeping bowls of Lightning Ridge. Our second day is spent strolling flower-filled meadows, learning about the effects of wind, weather, wildlife and humans on the fragile alpine environment. Third day we pack up and hike out. A great introduction to lightweight backpacking. Participants should be capable of walking for 5-7 hours with an overnight pack (15-20 kg. / 35-45 lb.) |

Willmore Wilderness is sometimes called "Walking-in-the-Sky country" and this unique circuit tour is a great example of why it is such a fitting name. The combination of breathtaking scenery, challenging terrain, and wildlife viewing potential make this a truly great mountain backpacking experience. 7-day "Willmore Wilderness Wander"Explore Willmore Wilderness... the "undiscovered" Rocky Mountain park! From our starting point at Rock Lake we'll spend seven full days hiking through deep, forested valleys and over high, barren passes on our trip to Grande Cache, a total of over 100 km. This is a long and strenuous trip. To get the most out of it you must be comfortable with long days (up to 8 hrs) carrying a heavy pack (20-30kg / 45-65lb) on a sustained basis. |
